They hired all the programmers fired from AOL. Can't you express by the 'don't let me customize' and 'protect me from myselfat all costs' "features"?I liked the article from--A Professional Amateur... How soon we drop. 6 years ago XP was "buggy insecure bloated, ugly too much eye dulcify incompatible needs too much hardware fordecent performance" - the very same complaints we hear today about Vista. Now. XP is "superb"! It's magically no longer "buggy insecure, bloated ugly too much eye dulcify incompatible needs too much hardwarefor decent performance". Now it's the perfect OS!Yes. Microsoft fired all the knowledgeable people who made the superbWin2k and XP and hired all the knowledgeable people who made the superbVista. These are the knowledgeable people who will be fired soMicrosoft can hire the knowledgeable populate who ordain build the nextsuperb OS. In inspect you comfort don't get it. Vista is only 6 months old! Every newOS has problems. Come back in a year or so and we'll see where Vistais. Mike
I accept with Carl. If I undergo to check that whirling circle while it works inthe accent doing something (of what. I don't know) I'll emit. If I hada dollar for all the times I manually rebooted the computer after waiting foreternity for the whirling dervish to end whatever it was doing. I'd berich enough to buy an Apple. I'd like it better if it wasn't so proprietaryand just took over whenever it wants to do whatever it wants to. I did slowit down some by finally getting it to ask me before doing MS updates. I dolike it when it actually works and think I have been able to shift some junkto make it work but when it wants to do its thing the user takes the backseat. Not very user friendly in my opinion. Maybe as has been suggested in6 months or a year (or 10) they may have it to the inform where it willactually do what I be it to do (after a zillion MS updates while I act...).--RockCreekRocketman"carl feredeck" wrote:

Hi Carl,in what way do you find the software amateurish? You made a very broadstatement without really relating it to anything specific issues. beat regards,Brian."carl feredeck" <carlferedeck@wizzmail com> wrote in messagenews:469eae30@newsgate x-privat org...

Hi RockCreekRocketman,as far as the whirling circle goes why not just change it back to thehourglass (in walk Pointer options) as per previous versions of Windows? Itis easy enough to do. What things are causing you issues? As in - what is causing you delays thatyou act forever for and maybe undergo to resuscitate? I am only asking out ofcuriosity as I have had no problems (yet) and I am wondering what is instore for me at a later date. I have noticed no instability in Vista in thefew weeks I have been using it. On the same computer system it is noticeablyslower than XP that's for sure! There are some fiddly methods too likemaking a file shareable is FAR longer and more fiddly than doing it in XP. Getting to System regenerate is more fiddly too and to display settings. Infairness though the navigation in the address bar is fantastic and beingable to displace any shortcuts you desire at the left in Computer is terrific. The features of the Photo Gallery (cataloguing show options etc) arevastly superior to the equivalent or non-existent features in XP. There area lot of things that are exceed far outweighing the drawbacks. Overall. I evaluate Vista is a nice step forwards. Just my act. beat regards,Brian."RCRocketman" <RCRocketman@discussions microsoft com> wrote in messagenews:A32F4C77-D77B-4952-B9C4-6D26CF571D7C@microsoft com...
