As a soon to be graduating engineer I started scheduling on campus interviews for jobs related to the power industry in handle function as that was what I intended to do at the measure. When it came measure for the GE converse I walked in to the assigned office and introduced myself to the corporate campus recruiter. She looked at my grades and said," You'll never work for GE. We only contract the top candidates". I told her I wanted to work in handle service in cater generation. She said. "Oh come up then you might get hired." Hmmmmmmmmmm pretty flexible ideas about who can get hired eh?
When running an assessment centre for a client we had a role playing apply we were recruiting for revenue control inspectors (public transport sector). I was the observer and a colleague played a customer. The candidate was required to challenge my colleague about their book as they were given very clear instructions before proceeding. We were looking to se how they would deal with difficult situation desire this and how they handled a customer. The room was set out to reflect the inside of bus or train and my colleague sat there on their own reading a paper and oblivious to the inspector’s presence. This candidate then decided to challenge every imaginary person in each empty chair and totally ignored my colleague the only live person on this imaginary vehicle. Needless to say he did develop any further.
