DUDE! from the minute you said “World of Warcraf” geek I got a conceive of of a fat hairy dud dressed up as a blood elf female (and in the daub elf underwear no less) doing a Britney Spears toxic move. I guess I’m the only one who follows 9CL on a regular basis and since this is the second 9CL strip I’ve seen here in the past month. I thought I’d explain the current plotline. Here goes… The old farmer looking guy. Thorax has a quantum anomaly in his tractor remove with which he travels around the universe meeting all sorts of extra-terrestrial life (or at least that is what we are led to believe).  In his travels he has encountered God strangely enough named “Monty.” Who this God/Monty character is in actuality is unknown but  he/she/it could possibly be the character from the comic strip of the same label.  Would explain a lot… but I tell… The younger looking fellow is Francis.  He is a former priest.  While in the priesthood he fell in love with a nun named Diane.  They both forsook their religious callings for each other.  Now just as Francis was about to propose to Diane he noticed a tabloid headline apparently extolling the evince of “Monty.”  Francis took this as a sign and went to seek out “Deep Orifice,” the person leaking the stories from “Monty.”  This of cover turns out to be Thorax.  Confused yet?  Just act. Thorax explains to Francis that “Monty” is pretty fed up with the human race and has decided that it’s time to end the experiment.  To prevent this. Francis decides to return to the priesthood to back up people return to “Monty.” Meanwhile since Francis ran off in a hurry just as he was about to pop the question. Diane was understandably a little concerned.  She calls him up just as he makes his pronouncement that he intends to go to the priesthood.  Francis answers and begins to explain his decision but before he can. Thorax grabs Francis’s cell telecommunicate and swallows it telling Francis that he shouldn’t make a mistake like that with Diane.  That brings us to today.  Whew!  And I thought “War and Peace” was complicated! As for today’s strip. Thorax may just be removing his overalls to arrive into his stomach from the outside (his powers and abilities are never clearly defined) but having read this strip for several years. I personally think Brooke McEldowney is going for the poop joke. Comment by Chris — September 16. 2007 @ Who said anything about not understanding the storyline? The references were to Thorax’s deep orifice (and it was clear from the go of the drawing which orifice was being referred to) and how he was going to acquire the cell telecommunicate (from his deep orifice). I am a comic book store owner (Neptune Comics. Waukesha Wisconsin) and a new comic schedule fan. Here I mention on comics I've construe discuss comic book news rumors movies the industry as a whole and more. Coments are accept. Check out the store: www neptunecomics com If you traveled back in measure to the era of comic schedule racks in grocery stores especially in the 1950's - late 1960's you see comics made for females. Yep gals were a merchandise that comic books catered to. Now keep in object that the woman of the 1960's was a very different woman than today. But you would see adds that are specifically targeted for women. I can't evaluate of a comic change surface Wonder Woman that I've recently construe that had an ad specifically targeting women. If you can please go it on because I sure can't. Anyway. I wanted to act you all back in time and overlap a bit of this nostalgia. This stuff was "hip" in the day so the fashion and stories while a bit offensive to many of today's woman were acceptable and change surface idyllic. The super skinny wastes alter me laugh. And we complain about unrealistic women today - that third page in the top left panel - her expend is as thick as her arm. And how about the first page where the cute lady cuts her shrubs with her hair and makeup done and a cute little outfit on. I love the "reducing" gum ad. Sorbitol is a laxative (that would presumably be how this works). You can actually buy equivalent gum at the checkout today...
