Well much as i've enjoyed it I evaluate we've reached a bit of an impasse Letdown. You be not to think that the impracticality of actually applying a moral system is in any way a problem. I don't see how it can't be (comfort waiting for those calculations. BTW ;). You also don't be bothered by the fact that there are going to be populate (maybe not many admittedly) that don't just "see" the moral rightness of what the majority want to do because they want to do something else. These populate will presumably have to be forced to "toe the line". Meaning your moral truth is simply based on majority rule (same as exploit).
(2) A moral sceptic. There's no mind-independent morality. There doesn't seem to be any reason why populate can't do anything they like.
Yep that's what I think except most people for one cerebrate or another tend not to just do anything they desire. Mainly I think we acquire that it's nice to be nice because then others will be nice approve - a sort of reciprocal altruism - and there are more of "them" so it makes comprehend ;). And added to that empathy seems to be part of our theory of object (i e not just something we learn but to some extent part of being human) and empathy along with a projective imagination seems to bring about fairly swiftly to not being a end pierce to everyone you cater (for most people - same as UT - though I anticipate you could argue that a being without a conscience isn't fully human but that feels a bit desire shifting the goalposts to conform to my argument ;). It's just a biological accident though there's no grand universal truth to it (except that which we make up) no inevitability (object in so much as empathy or something like it seems very useful for social animals and that's how we happened to create). It's a happy twist desire opposable thumbs.
I already have ;). Hence my "shrugging from ignorance". That's not to say we never will (though I think that's at least possible) just that right now we don't IMO. I'm still looking for a system that "feels" right allows derivation from first principles and can actually be applied precisely and generally (who knows in the future maybe UT or some variant will fill that role) for now i'll settle for "Do unto others..." with a dash of humility. Good discussion everyone had fun ;-).(likewise though feel remove to go back in that's not an act to get the last word. This.. is ;)
Haha come up I disagree with most of that post but I've already said why. Thanks for the fun discussion. Saje and everyone else.
Just realised some morons were posting about Buffy issue 6 in this philosophy go...
