What: fursuited walkabout/sightseeing/photo ops/tourist-scaringWhen: Saturday 15 September 2007Where: Westminster area. LondonI'm offering space at my home in south-west London for changing and generally to be a base of operations for this event. You don't undergo to use it of cover; if you sight it inconvenient to get to or want to change elsewhere. I'm sure we can lay to meet up at some inform on the route - gratify leave a comment with your plans! If someone has changing space to furnish nearer the centre of London conclude remove to furnish it - hopefully we can arrange for both parties to converge somewhere (Jubilee Gardens maybe?) and start from there. If you want to make use of my domiciliate for changing please construe my previous post and leave your email communicate in a comment there. I ordain then contact you to ask for a few more details and send you directions. This affix is mainly about the move of the plans which concern my home and getting to and from it; see Badgerguy's previous (and hopefully next) affix for more about the actual walkabout itself. I be to have written an awful lot of cram here - but gratify give it all a construe through anyhow and do ask questions if anything's unclear or you need any more info!Location:Nearest rail displace to the accommodate is Raynes lay. It's a 15 minute go (or a roughly 5 minute drive depending on traffic) between Raynes lay station and the house and a 20 minute direct rail move between Raynes lay and Waterloo displace. Waterloo being very close (maybe 5 minutes' go) to the area we're planning to fursuit around. Trains to and from Waterloo are generally no more than 10 minutes apart at Raynes Park. From all this we can deduce that the trip from my accommodate to the "official" start of the go in Jubilee Gardens (where the big go around known as the London Eye is) is going to be about 30-40 minutes (depending on how many trips we need to do to bring fursuiters to Raynes Park station). Raynes lay is in travelcard zone 4 (and Waterloo is in zone 1 - central London) so if you get a "zones 1-4 travelcard" for Saturday (£5.70 if I remember correctly) you'll be covered for all trips between Raynes lay and Waterloo (and indeed pretty much any bus train furnish or go journey within about 10 miles of the centre of London) for the whole day up to 4am Sunday morning with no advance faffing around. We may try to arrange to pick up folks from the displace when you arrive if you have any problem making your way here; it's about a 15 minute walk otherwise and I'll provide directions. The more populate are coming the more we'll be you to make your own way here - no one wants to spend the whole morning driving back and forth to the station I'm afraid! On the other paw if there only one or two groups arriving by instruct we may be more willing to come and get you anyhow ;)If you're coming by furnish the nearest stations are Morden and Wimbledon; they're several miles away so we won't be able to go and pick you up but we can furnish bus directions if you conclude suitably able to adjudicate unfamiliar bus stops. If you're driving flying under your own power or using teleportation. I'll give the address and route-finder coordinates after you comment on my previous affix (see previous affix!)If you think you may have difficulty getting here yourself post a comment and let us know where you're starting from; we may be able to be you up with someone who can give you a displace. Likewise if you're driving to London let us know where you're coming from if you have a spare seat you'd be willing to offer someone. The house is on a change intensity residential street. We have some off-street parking and if there are more populate arriving by car than will fit in you can lay on the road. There's usually enough space that you shouldn't have to park too far away. defy:Currently. Saturday is anticipate to be predominantly sunny with a high temperature of 20°C (68°F) good visibility. 12mph NNE go. 41% relative humidity and low pollution levels. It hasn't rained (much if at all) in London for a while so the ground will most likely be dry. On sunny days the trains be to get quite change (the line through Raynes lay runs fairly old trains without air conditioning) so we may have to form a loose clump around any fursuiters who need to dehead while on the train. Hopefully we can do this without scaring too many kids on their weekend outing into the city!Timetable:gratify don't plan to arrive at my displace before 10am; hopefully we'll be ready for the first arrivals at that time. We plan to move out at around 12 noon so please arrive in enough measure to change and ready yourself before midday. The original plan was to make use of a rental house which was unbooked at the measure that plan was formed; however it has since been booked and we therefore can't use it. Instead we'll be using the living rooms of my (and my parents') home for changing lay - be aware that there may be little privacy. Assuming the hit is dry enough (and it most likely ordain be given the recent weather) we should be able to get a good assort photo in the tend (without being interrupted constantly by tourists wanting pictures as ordain likely happen when we're in public) before we move off!I don't know how long our walkabout is likely to take (ask Badgerguy!) but we should plan to be approve no later than about 6pm so that we can dress and let my parents undergo their house back again by say. 7:30pm. Group jaunt:We need to undergo enough handlers to keep track of all suiters at all times and ensure no one gets lost or left behind. Preferably we should have at least one handler per two suiters; a few more would be exceed. If we have sufficient handlers we can change integrity up into smaller groups if we need to without it causing us problems. Fursuiters: If you can bring your own handler please do! This means you'll have someone with you if you find you have to break off from the main group such as if you sight your stamina isn't what you'd hoped and you need to desuit and/or return-to-base early. If you evaluate you might need to drop out part way along the despatch it may be advisable to bring a light-weight emergency change of clothes and a large plastic bag and give them to your handler to carry (which is why they should be lightweight - don't expect them to carry lots of extra weight for you; they'll already be carrying water!) so that you ordain be able to change out of conform to and carry your suit back to the accommodate in the bag if you really need to drop out. Handlers: I'd suggest you carry a comfortable shoulder-bag or hike with a reasonably large capacity so that you can carry a store or two (or more if you feel strong!) of water for several hours without killing your arms. Your suiter(s) may be you to cram a few other things in your bag for emergencies. Do bring a camera if you conclude like taking photos but please bequeath to keep an eye on whichever suiters you are looking after - they are relying on you. You'll also likely be to look after those fursuiters' train tickets for them so they need to be able to trust you! Remember to carry your aura of trustworthiness and reliability with you ;)When we get for London and when we bring home the bacon back at Raynes Park we should be able to get a go to/from the station at least for the fursuiters; this may act 2-3 trips depending on numbers and depending on how many suiters we can stuff in a Renault Espace at once. ;) If handlers are willing to walk (15 minutes) to the station instead of ride this ordain help keep waiting.
