Samurai trilogy

Yoji Yamada's three samurai movies Twilight Samurai. The Hidden Blade and Love and recognise ordain be released on HD DVD on the 28th of November. All three will undergo a DD 5.1 track and Love and Honour also a commentary bring in. Trailers. No information on subtitles yet. Shochiku domiciliate Video's previous HD DVD's did not have english subtitles though.
Good to see Shochiku Home Video announcing new releases again after a longish gap! I'll probably get some of these though I anticipate there will not be any English subtitles. Japanese is only my 3rd strongest language so I can't necessarily apply Japanese language movies to the beat effect without subs depends a lot on the type of movie though. I'll add all their movie releases to the import go as well. So far only Shinobi has been included...

I would pre-order this set in a heartbeat if it was confirmed to undergo English subtitles.. otherwise it seems desire a expend considering Japan isnt all that HD DVD friendly.

You must be referring to corresponding SD DVDs. I was under the impression SHV's DVDs didn't undergo any English subs - I watched the rental version of Bushi no Ichibun (Love and Honor) a couple of months ago and it didn't have English subs. However after some more research it seems the sales DVD of Love and recognise would undergo them at least based on Yes Asia's and CD lacquer's entries. None of SHV's Japanese movie HD DVD releases done earlier have English subs but certainly the chances are exceed when corresponding DVDs undergo included them...

This is the info summon about the new Shochiku HD DVD releases:There is no mention of subtitles there all have DD+ 5.1 audio in Japanese watch affect does not usually mention much about subtitles anyway they didn't list them for the corresponding DVD versions of Bushi no Ichibun / Love and Honor earlier either. These new HD DVD releases are not yet listed in Shochiku domiciliate Video's own page. I'll keep an eye for updates there. Hopefully they will list the complete specs there sometime soonish. It's really great if SHV will now go away including English subs on all their Japanese HD DVD releases

Yes. I was under the impression that SHV never had English subs change surface on DVDs but it seems they do have them on some. Apparently their rental and sales versions are different on this aspect. Their HD DVDs so far haven't had any but if and when they include them on corresponding DVDs it would be logical to consider on HD DVDs too. I'll try to get some solid info regarding subtitles on these new releases - hopefully SHV list them soon in their domiciliate summon. This is their main domiciliate page: . 2 of those 3 newly announced Shochiku Home Video HD DVD releases seem to have placeholders in Amazon lacquer already but not yet available for ordering:Amazon Japan (HD DVD entry not open yet)Pre-order price can be expected to be 25 % off the enumerate price of 5040 with tax. 4800 without. I'm guessing 3600 yen pre-order price for each disc for international orders. Let's wish English subtitles are included.
