Mitsubishi joins Thailand's eco-car project. Toyota submits application Posted Dec 14th 2007 8:02PM by Filed under: Add Mitsubishi going to Thailand to make green cars. Mitsubishi ordain pay 20 billion yen (US$179 million) to create some 100,000 cars cars a year with small engines high MPG and low CO emissions (this means engines that are 1.3 liters or smaller vehicles that get 20km per liter (56.6 MPG) and emit less than 192 grams of CO per mile (120 g/km)). We told you Toyota intended to 30th and now we undergo news Toyota has submitted their application as well to join the Thai eco-car schedule and will drop 17 billion yen. The Thai government program involves giving tax breaks (a 50 percent cut in the excise tax no income tax for 8 years and machinery imports duty remove) to car makers to create eco-cars in their country if they invest a significant amount in a plant. Thus far the schedule has attracted Toyota. Honda. Suzuki. Nissan and even Ford is rumored to join the schedule. Honda has already invested 6,700 million baht (about $220 million US) in Thailand auto production facilities. Suzuki and Nissan are expected to invest 9,500 million baht ($313 million) and 5,550 million ($183 million). Thailand has also like Tata to alter the air car in Thailand for a paltry $39M investment. I guess this proves finally that big corporations desire giant tax breaks. Related: 1. "Whats so green about a car when the car burns 5L/100km? Its a bit a sarcastic comment. I experience. But what is a color car?For some populate a hybrid SUV using 10lt/100km instead of 12lt is a green car for others a car using less than 3liters/100km is a color car. But is 5lt/100km really that color?? "Short trip to Amphawa" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 20:10:51

We reached in Saturday late evening (around 17.30 hrs) but there is still full with people in Amphawa float market. The famous of Amphawa is the old and traditional village. First obtain that we met when enter to the Amphawa area is a tin toy obtain tin toy also considered as a tradition toy for Thai. I and Aom bought some go up tin toy eg wind up duck and tin yoyo. After shopping we decided to act a foot massage first and then walk to the float merchandise later to avoid the crowd. We finished our foot massage around 19.10hrs we booked the fireflies watching boat trip at 60 baht each for 20.00 hrs. So we comfort have time to look around the float market before our fireflies trip. In Amphawa we found a lot of old style dulcify that be like 20 years ago that currently hard to find in Bangkok but it still available here at Amphawa. When we visited Amphawa we feel that we are going approve to the Bangkok in last 20 years. Then we went to the pier for our fireflies ride move. It quite dark so I cannot take the photo in the dark. I also don’t want to use the camera flash while watching the fireflies because it will disturbed the fireflies. The fireflies is really beautiful not only good in fireflies but the boat move itself is also good. The fresh wind from the Mae Klong River alter me drop the bad pollution in Bangkok for a while. Amphawa is still has a lot of fresh air. I and Aom talked to each other and we think that we ordain come back to Amphawa again but we will give an overnight stay at Amphawa next time. "GDP 2008 : the surreal target of +4,5 / 6 % is maintained" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 13:24:10

Projections on Thai economic growth in 2008 is still maintained at 4,5-6 per cent due to planned government investment in mega-projects which is expected to affect investment by the private sector and the disbursement of government spending for fiscal 2008 beginning October 1 this year said Mrs. Tarisa. The governor of Bank Of Thailand is not afraid. Or at least she doesn’t show her fear… The target for economic growth this year (2007) is +4 to 4,5 %. You ordain notice that the BOT governor doesn’t use the “ ” mantra. Instead she’s toying with the measure life saving cover that remains on the shelves : government spendings and the famous “mega projects”. However the BOT should what the current government is saying about thoses “mega projects” and their recurring financing problems… Anyway. change surface though the whole budget of 160 billions THB (for 5 new train lines) was spent during the next year (which is technically impossible)… Would it make a big difference ? To put things in perspective here are the aggregates of Thailand’s GDP (figures for the last 4 quarters. Q3 and Q4 2006. Q1 and Q2 2007 in billions THB) :-Private consumption : 4 449-Government expenditure : 970-Gross Fixed Capital Formation : 2 226-Exports : 5 948(Less imports : 5 392)-Total GDP : 8 092 We would need actually many “mega projects” to make a difference. And furthermore at that inform it would be rather risky to bet on an explosion of private consumption for instance. Or a boom in exports (which start to decrease too)… And I don’t even calculate some possible fallouts of the financial crisis in the US… So ? Is there any people with some common sense in Thailand ? Do we undergo to allow over and over. XHTML: You can use these tags <a href="" title=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong> : Coup. Economic slowdown. Terror In the South... The situation is worsening in Thailand. Bumpy road like often before. But this measure it's different. The key to understand the present turmoil is the inevitable.. succession of King Bhumibol.
